Story Pic: Is There a God?

Once upon a time there was a king and he was a wise man too. In his kingdom used to live many other wise men. Now some of these would not agree to believe that God did exist, while others not only agreed but argued to the satisfaction of the King that there was 'God'. The King, being a wise man, arranged for a discussion.

The date and time for discussion was fixed. The king held his court at the appointed time on the appointed date. The non-believers assembled in his presence but the believing wise man did not come at the appointed time

The people waited and waited till they lost their patience and uttered the words: "He has no arguments to advance in support of his conviction, so he will not come. He has lost, we have won."

At last, the wise man arrived and there was an uproar in the court of the king. The people cried: "Why are you late? You have lost".

The king asked him to explain the cause of his delay. The believing wise man explained, saying: "I started from my home in time, but when I came by the side of the river which I had to cross before reaching here, I did not find a single boat, by which I could cross and reach the opposite bank".

Upto this point the disbelieving men heard him patiently and did not say a single word. The believing man then continued:

"I waited and waited till at last I saw some planks of wood coming out of the river".

And the unbelieving men began to shout "O, It is a lie. It is unbelievable. It is unthinkable".

Continued the believing wise man: "Plank by plank came out of the river and then I saw the planks were cut to proper size and shape and joined to each other with nails by themselves until they formed a boat. And then I took my seat in it and came over to the other bank. I am late because of the delay in the availability of the boat".

Amid a roar of the non-believing men, the believing wise man tried to convince them of the cause of the delay; but the opponents would not believe him. Then he said:

"You do not believe what I say. It appears the story of the boat forming by itself is something impossible for you to believe. Now in the name of justice, I ask you. Do you see the earth, the sun, the moon, the stars and the skies? Every thing is set according to a plan. But you say it came into existence without a Creator. In other words you deny the existence of God. How far is your statement reasonable and justified?

This silenced them all and there was no answer to this. So the non-believers lost and the believer won.

My Diary: 6 April 2008, Aku Tak Lagi Sendiri

Ada apa ya tanggal 6 April 2008?

Iya betul! Insya Alloh Saya mau menikah.. ^_^

"Ngapain sih nikah cepet-cepet?! Mending puas-puasin dulu masa muda lo, maen dulu! Kalo udah nikah mah mana bisa maen-maen lg, ga bebas!"

"Emang lo udah siap? Siap materi? Siap emosi? Tanggung jawabnya besar loh!"

Aamiin..

Mohon Do'a restu ya.. ^_^

Berikut saya lampirkan undangan Walimah saya:

Story Pic: Bersama Kita Jelang Surga, Insya Alloh

Engkau lipat, kemudian kau tumpuk dua hingga tiga pakaian, lalu kau bariskan sedemikian rupa hingga menyerupai kasur. Kemudian engkau bentangkan kerudung lebarmu laksana seprei permadani menyelimuti kasur indah lita. Engkau tersenyum dan mempersilahkan aku tidur. Kutatap wajahmu, kubalas senyummu dengan genangan air mata haru.

Bersamamu, bergulirnya waktu terasa begitu cepat. Hari-hari berlalu selalu terasa begitu indah. Kekurangan materi yang menemani kita setiap hari, seakan bukan merupakan beban manakala kita senantiasa ikhlas. Denganmu, begitu banyak pelajaran yang aku petik.

Ketika setahun usia pernikahan kita, tujuh bulan sudah usia kehamilanmu. Aku begitu panik ketika engkau mengalami pendarahan, tapi engkau begitu tenang, tak gugup sedikit pun.

Anak pertama kita lahir, prematur. Ah… betapa bahagianya aku, kucium kenigmu berulang kali. Kudengar kau berbisik, “Bi…, aku lapar”. Tersentak aku mendengarnya.

Sungguh, aku beruntung sekali memilikimu. Engkaulah sebenarnya perhiasan itu. Semoga engkau selalu tegar mendampingiku, hingga kita jelang surga bersama-sama. Insya’ Alloh. (Abu Al-Ayyubi).

*Buat istriku, aku tahu engkau punya impian. Maafkan aku yang hingga kini belum mampu mewujudkan impianmu.

Graves of Jannatul Baqi
This is the cemetery where people of Madinah put their deads to rest, since the days of the Prophet (pbuh). Many members of the family of the Prophet (pbuh) are burried here. Along with approx 10 000 companions (sahabi) and 1000's of followers (tabi'in), scholars and others. Jannat ul Baqi means "Tree garden of Heaven".

Prior to the twentieth century, many of the graves were covered with domes or other structures, but those have been removed over time. Now the graves are only marked with a rock.

Worshippers doing tawaf around the Ka'ba and praying inside the Hateem area
The hateem is a part of the Ka'ba, the walls of the Ka'ba used to be where the walls of the Hateem is now.

The first man on earth - Prophet Adam (as) - first built the Kaaba. He (as) was told by Allah to build it "benath" Allah's throne, i.e. the throne of Allah is "above" the Kaba. However, the throne is symbolic in its nature as Allah is not a physical being that needs to rule from a throne. During time, the Kaba was destroyed and it was later re-built by the Prophets Ibrahim (as) and his son Ismail (as).

Before the time of prophet Muhammad (pbuh), pagans worshipped at Kaaba, as they used to have their idol gods within the Kaba) until prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his followers conquested Makkah in a peaceful manner without any blood shed. Since then it has since been a place of worship for Muslims.

Muslims from all over the world face the Kaba when they pray their five daily prayers. Also, many travel to Makkah for the Umrah (lesser pilgrimage) or the Hajj (annual pilgrimage). The Hajj is compulsory on every Muslim to do once in their lifetime, if he or she have the financial and medical means for it. One of the rites of the pilgrimage is tawaf - to circumambulate the Kaba counter clock wise. One tawaf is 7 rounds, and is one of the two main rituals of the Umrah

Story Pic: A World of Smile

About ten years ago when I was an undergraduate in college, I was working as an intern at my University's Museum of Natural History. One day while working at the cash register in the gift shop, I saw an elderly couple come in with a little girl in a wheelchair.

As I looked closer at this girl, I saw that she was kind of perched on her chair. I then realized she had no arms or legs, just a head, neck and torso. She was wearing a little white dress with red polka dots.

As the couple wheeled her up to me I was looking down at the register. I turned my head toward the girl and gave her a wink. As I took the money from her grandparents, I looked back at the girl, who was giving me the cutest, largest smile I have ever seen. All of a sudden her handicap was gone and all I saw was this beautiful girl, whose smile just melted me and almost instantly gave me a completely new sense of what life is all about. She took me from a poor, unhappy college student and brought me into her world; a world of smiles, love and warmth.

That was ten years ago. I'm a successful business person now and whenever I get down and think about the troubles of the world, I think about that little girl and the remarkable lesson about life that she taught me.
